Even after over 37 years in practice, I still love coming to work every day in what I consider the best profession in the world. It is extremely rewarding to be able to watch the change in our patients’ self-esteem and confidence as a direct result of their orthodontic treatment and beautiful new smiles… that never gets old!
Education and Experience
A lifelong resident of Western New York, I grew up in Amherst, NY and attended Canisius College where I graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in Biology in 1981. I received my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from SUNY Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in 1985. While in dental school, I was the recipient of several awards for academic and clinical excellence including the Delta Sigma Delta Award for Excellence in Operative Dentistry and an induction into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. I continued my education for two more years of specialized training in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at SUNY Buffalo and received my graduate orthodontic certificate from the School of Dental Medicine in 1987.
I am a strong proponent of lifelong learning! I actively keep up with continuing education in order to provide the most advanced treatment techniques and best possible care for our patients. In addition to my own continual studies, I was also a Clinical Instructor in the Orthodontic Department at SUNY Buffalo School of Dental Medicine for over 20 years, fostering the next generation of orthodontists.

Family and Community
I have been married to my wife Amy, who I met in dental school, since 1990. We have five children, including twins, that we raised in Lockport. We recently had three of our children get married in a year's time! All but one, who lives in Savannah, are in the area so we still get to spend time with them.
When I’m not spending time with our expanding family and friends, I like to read, go to the movies, ski, and play golf—I’m still chasing that elusive hole in one!
As a resident of the Lockport community and dental community, it is very important for me to give back to these places that have supported me over the years. I have been involved in my church, as well as volunteering for more than 20 years as an orthodontic instructor at UB Dental School. Lockport Orthodontics is involved with mentoring programs for many young students who are considering orthodontics as a career, in addition to participating in Smiles Changes Lives, which provides discounted treatment for those who are in need.
